|
| The Village Sign Society | The Village Sign Society was founded in 1999 by Maureen Long and Shirley Addy, co-producers of the popular series of books on Suffolk village signs, "Suffolk Signs". Through the publication of these books, Maureen and Shirley were contacted by many people fascinated by village signs, and so the idea of forming a society for like-minded people was born. The Society has now over 120 enthusiastic, active and armchair sign-spotting members, and continues to grow as the interest in village signs expands, particularly shown in the erection of many new signs to celebrate the Millennium. |
