Some Nottinghamshire Milestones     

Unlike its neighbouring counties of Derbyshire and Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire has relatively few surviving milestones and those that do survive are individual examples rather than a series.  Indeed the mileposts on the County's canals [like that at Hickling, right] are rather more numerous that those on its roads.
